A house concert is a wonderful way to invite friends, family and music lovers to enjoy some of the best singer-songwriters in the country in a very intimate setting. A relaxing, comfortable home creates the perfect environment for people to have an inspired evening with entertaining artists. We can host up to 45 people for each event. We currently host 4 concerts a year and would love to establish a large enough regular following to have more, so your support is very important!
One hundred percent of your donations to attend these concerts go to the performers. It is very important that you make your donation when you commit to attending so we can be assured we will continue to get quality acts. We make it so simple -- just go to the reservations page of this site and use our paypal buttons to pay in advance. That way none of us have to worry about anything but having a good time the night of the concert!
Nexus foots the bill for the chair rental, food and the opening acts. You are welcome to bring snacks or donate additionally to the "set up" any time you wish. We do this solely for the love of acoustic music and the artists who risk their creative passions to touch people through their gifts.
We choose our artists from a wonderfully talented group of artist friends and clients of Nexus Creative Services as well as from a network of trusted referrals. We focus on the singer-songwriter genre - folk, country, Americana and similar styles.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
You are welcome to arrive 30-45 minutes before the concert’s starting time. We offer coffee, iced tea and water and you're welcome to bring your own soft drinks, juice or beer/wine. No hard liquor please. Snacks are served at intermission. There will be a 20-30 minute intermission between the artist's sets. You are welcome to visit with the artists and purchase CDs after the concert ends.
You are invited to sign up for our mailing list so you will receive news of our concerts. It's mandatory that people RSVP so we know how many chairs to rent for the event. Please make sure you allow for mail from deborah@nexusconcertseries.com. We usually begin announcing concerts 2-3 weeks before the actual event. We encourage you to make your reservation on the site as soon as possible as seating is limited to 45. Please feel free to pass the email on to friends regarding music they would be interested in. This is an adult gathering so we respectfully ask that you find care for your children elsewhere while you attend the concert.
After we receive your RSVP (and hopefully your donation), we will send you a link to the map to the house and address. Since this is a private event, we do not post the address on this website.
We do not allow smoking in the house but you may go out on the deck or in the front of the house during intermission.
Would you like to help support our concerts? You can bring friends with you to the shows, add people to our list. Bring a snack. Help us clean up after the event. Feel free to donate to the "set up" fund...
Remember that most of these artists are going to have CDs for sale after the concert. You're going to love their music and will want to take home some music, so make sure you bring your checkbook or some extra cash. The artists will be happy to talk with you and autograph your CDs!
